IP commands for Windows
To get to the command prompt in Windows, go to: Start, Run and in the empty box type cmd and then hit the enter key.
You can use the following commands:
- Change/Modify DHCP Class ID: ipconfig /setclassid
- Clear DNS Cache: ipconfig /flushdns
- Display Connection Configuration: ipconfig /all
- Display DHCP Class Information: ipconfig /showclassid
- Display DNS Cache Info Configuration: ipconfig /displaydns
- Display Local Route: route
- Display Name of Computer Currently on: hostname
- Display Resolved MAC Addresses: arp
- Display TCP/IP protocol sessions: netstat
- Network Connections: control netconnections
- Network Setup Wizard: netsetup.cpl
- Release All IP Address Connections: ipconfig /release
- Renew All IP Address Connections: ipconfig /renew
- Re-Register the DNS connections: ipconfig /registerdns
- Test Connectivity: ping www.whatismyip.com
- Trace IP address Route: tracert
